Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The global recognition of his music has helped him break into mainstream Latin music. Una Lady Como Tu, his smash hit of 2016, won the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017 for Best Song. The album he released as his debut ADN was made available by La Industria Inc., an Medellin-based Sony distribution company. The album made it to the 8th spot within the Top Latin Albums Chart. In the following year, he joined Ozuna for the Top Five smash Vaina Loca. He released in 2020 his second album charting Dopamina and co-wrote Mala Influencia along with Noriel. He appeared later in 2021 in a duet with TINI on her smash streaming track Maldita Foto. The hit single La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo was born into an musical family. His older brother and mother are also musicians. Interviews with him have described his involvement in music as mandatory. He began learning to play the guitar, saxophone the keyboard and the ukulele when he was when he was a child. When his original career plan was to become a veterinarian His brother Julian encouraged him to enroll in lessons in singing with a Cuban instructor.
